What happened, and why it matters.
Delayed payments can strain providers. Inaccurate cost reporting can divert public resources. Barriers to timely appointments can keep people from receiving needed care. Understanding the record requires looking beyond headlines and reading the underlying documents.
This first report focuses on Centene. It is an initial research collection covering 2020–2026, not a complete audit of every subsidiary or government contract.

NH Healthy Families announces a four-star 2026 NCQA Medicaid rating
Centene subsidiary NH Healthy Families announced a 4.0 out of 5 rating in NCQA’s 2026 Medicaid health plan ratings, describing this as its eighth consecutive year at that rating.
Why it matters: This is a company report of an NCQA Medicaid rating, not a CMS Medicare Advantage star rating. The programs and methods differ and should not be combined in a ranking. The NCQA record was not independently retrieved, and the aggregate rating does not resolve individual care-denial concerns.
Company-reported NCQA rating; independent NCQA record pending

Ambetter announces 2027 primary care partnership in Indiana and Missouri
Centene announced a Marathon Health collaboration for eligible Ambetter Health Solutions members in selected Indiana and Missouri counties. Beginning in 2027, the arrangement is intended to offer $0 primary care visits and lab services, plus virtual primary care, through employer-supported individual coverage arrangements.
Why it matters: Eligibility and geography are limited. This concerns off-Exchange individual coverage, not a Medicaid or Medicare procurement award. Company statements do not establish timely appointments, reduced authorization barriers or improved outcomes for these members.

Wellcare announces its 2027 Medicare offerings
Wellcare announced Medicare Advantage and prescription drug offerings for 2027, including benefit-card features, dental options and transportation benefits. The release describes two stand-alone prescription drug plan options. Benefits and eligibility vary by plan.
Why it matters: Members should check the actual local plan documents, drug formulary and provider/pharmacy networks. Advertised benefits are company statements, not verified evidence of timely care or improved outcomes.

Florida Children’s Medical Services Plan moved from Sunshine Health to Molina on October 1
Sunshine Health’s current member page confirms that the Children’s Medical Services Health Plan is now operated by Molina Healthcare and members transferred automatically October 1. AHCA identifies Molina as the selected statewide operator. The source pages do not state their publication dates; this is a newly verified historical transition, not a new October 9 award.
Why it matters: AHCA says existing appointments, prescriptions and authorizations will be honored. Those commitments require monitoring for actual continuity. The transition concerns this specialized plan, not all Sunshine Medicaid business. No contract value or member harm is inferred.
Transition confirmed by outgoing operator; state continuity commitments; publication dates unstated

04 / Executive leadership
Pay, benefits and leadership changes.
The same 2020–2026 research window, viewed through company compensation disclosures and leadership announcements. Annual pay is available through 2025; 2026 entries describe announced terms and events through October 6.
What “total compensation” measures.Reported totals combine salary, incentives, grant-date stock and option values, and other compensation. Equity values are not cash received and may never be realized. Benefits shown below are already included in the totals. SEC “Compensation Actually Paid” is also an adjusted accounting measure, not a bank-payment total.
Coverage is Centene’s publicly disclosed named executive officers and selected leadership events. This does not establish the pay or turnover of every subsidiary executive. Missing disclosure does not mean zero pay.

Current agreements and the executive severance plan provide qualifying salary/bonus payments, medical coverage and equity treatment. These are contingent benefits, not proof of a payment. The workbook identifies current provisions and disclosed historical separation arrangements.
Benefits changed over time
Tax preparation and financial advice benefits ended in 2023. The current proxy reports no defined-benefit pension or retiree medical program for named executives. Neidorff’s historical agreement and death benefits had different terms and are treated separately.

What the evidence supports
Compensation alongside workforce cuts
The annual disclosures provide a basis for comparing executive compensation with workforce reductions in the same years. That timing alone does not establish that cuts funded executive pay, or that any executive ordered particular layoffs. Layoffs and advertised replacement roles still require role-level evidence.
Measure pay consistently
London’s reported 2025 total was $19.51M, versus $20.60M in 2024. The company reported 2025 SEC Compensation Actually Paid of $4.65M and a CEO-to-median-employee pay ratio of 206:1. The ratio uses compensation including up to $10,000 of medical premiums. Each measure answers a different question; none should be substituted for cash take-home pay.
